About this place
Situated in a residential corner of Nishikyogoku, Kikkake is the kind of neighborhood bar that naturally invites you to pause on the journey home. With the owner welcoming guests from behind the counter, the interior strikes a casual, tranquil balance that feels just as hospitable to first-time visitors and solo patrons as it does to regular locals.
The back bar showcases a broad whisky collection, spanning Japanese staples like Hakushu and Yoichi to single malt Scotches such as Ardbeg, Talisker, and Laphroaig, alongside American bourbons. The drink list also covers classic cocktails like gin and tonics, Moscow mules, and daiquiris, with the option to request drinks tailored to personal tastes or your mood that evening, plus a selection of shochu.
The food on offer provides good reason to linger over another round. Made in-house by the owner, popular items like pasta, shumai dumplings, and sausages easily satisfy an appetite, making the spot just as practical for a light meal as it is for drinks.
Operating from Tuesday through Saturday between 19:00 and 2:00 the following morning, the bar also accepts reservations. Payment can be made with various mobile code services, including PayPay, Rakuten Pay, and d-barai, making it easy to drop in spontaneously late at night.
